Crunchy rye biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Eden Valley Rye Flour
  • 2 cups coconut
  • 2 cups flaked oatmeal
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup, treacle or honey
  • 1/2 lb. butter or fat
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 level teaspoons carbonate soda

Instructions

  1. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and golden syrup.
  3. Put water, warmed, on soda, and pour into butter and syrup.
  4. Let boil a minute, add to the dry ingredients and mix well together.
  5. Place in blobs on a tray and press with a fork.
  6. Bake until a light brown.
